10 Creative Loyalty Program Ideas to Boost Retention in 2025
Video Transcript: 10 Creative Loyalty Program Ideas to Boost Retention in 2025
The first point we’re going to touch on is tiered reward. This is pretty standard for loyalty programs, spending between certain thresholds gets you to different tiers, gets customers more perks, helps incentivize them to spend more. You can see our place offers extra things, like $50 point redemption, a host gift for account holders if you spend over $600 annually. That’s our top tier. Pretty interesting rewards, consider what you could give your customers.
Also, consider gamification, how can visitors earn more points to get more rewards? Here from Princess Polly, they can sign up for texts, get 10 points. You can sign up for different social media platforms and get points. It gets people engaged, it gets them into the marketing funnels even further so you can continue to market and get them to purchase.
Also, consider eco-friendly rewards. Does your brand promote sustainability or being eco-conscious? You can offer planting trees for every X amount of dollars spent. You can offer cash rounding that goes towards certain projects. Donating the loyalty points to different charities, things like that.
Also, take into account personalized rewards. If somebody brings up their birthday or an anniversary, or another special date, you can send specialized rewards for those certain periods.
Another interesting loyalty program is subscription based. A big brand like REI does this. You spend about $30 per year and you get access to these extra benefits. You get free shipping on all of your online orders. You get monthly credits towards purchases. You get 10% back if you have the membership. Consider ways that you could incentivize repeat customers to sign up for a similar program to get exclusive benefits.
Also, think about referral incentives. Another way to boost loyalty is to get customers referring their friends, referring family, and getting points or store credit for doing so.
You can also offer experiential rewards. Princess Polly has some interesting experiences that customers can get access to by spending a certain amount, things like a drawing for a festival weekend, invites to certain events. You could also offer different tiers access to product launches early or workshops, or webinars, or behind the scenes with the company, or different brand-sponsored events. Or like Princess Polly does, like certain drawings for bigger events.
Consider also your VIPs and doing surprise perks. This could be free gifts with purchase. Here for health aid, they offer a free gift when you enter their highest tier, spending over $300. You could even do point multipliers during a customer’s anniversary month, things like that, to reward your high spenders.
Similar to gamification, you can also do social media-based rewards. Earning points for doing things like tagging a brand or participating in a hashtag campaign, leaving a review, just getting them continuing to engage with the brand across different platforms.
And lastly, we have partnered loyalty programs. Something you could consider is collaborating with a complimentary brand to offer rewards between the two companies. Let’s say you are an apparel brand, you focus on fitness. You could partner with a health food subscription box company and offering discounts with that subscription box. And then vice versa, they can promote your apparel company to their subscription box customers. Quite a few different ideas to consider with your loyalty program, whether you have one already. Consider how you can continue enhancing it. And if you don’t have one, definitely something to really consider for 2025. And that’s all for this video. I’ll see you in the next one. Thanks.
